What is an FDE?
A Forward Deployed Engineer embeds in your business environment: they work alongside you to shape problems, write and deploy production-grade AI, and own business results — they do not leave after a demo.
Terminology: FDE means Forward Deployed Engineer when we refer to the role, and Forward Deployed Engineering when we refer to the delivery discipline. FFDE uses the latter in its full name: a Fortified FDE delivery system for SMBs.
The model was pioneered by Palantir around 2009 and is now one of the fastest-growing delivery roles in the AI era. Databricks, Deloitte, Google Cloud, and others are scaling FDE organizations.
Why do SMBs need Fortified FDE?
